Hi, new member here. I am trying to get a deep carry standard clip and screws in silver for my 940. I have been trying to call customer service for 2 days, on hold for an hour once. Anyone know what’s going on? Are they still in business?

Yes they are still in business, and you are better off contacting them via email. In my experience, Benchmade really tries to take care of their customers.

I sent them an email yesterday, we’ll see what happens. They have the clip I want at their online store for $10.00 and $15.00 shipping but they say to contact customer service for the screws, and then not answer calls. That’s a strange way of taking care of customers.
I’m new to Benchmark and love the knives - I hope my initial experience with them isn’t the norm.

I hope it isn’t the norm as well. A lot has changed with the company since I last dealt with their CS dept, I certainly hope things aren’t going downhill.

I've sent Benchmade about a dozen emails over the years and they've answered a total of 0.

I've called them and they've been responsive that way.

Like I said in my first post, I’m only speaking from MY personal experience, so that’s what I’m going on. They always answered my emails when I had a question or concern, so that ended up being my preferred way of dealing with them. I’m not sure why your experience was different than mine.

As an international customer, I only ever contact Benchmade via email. And they have responded to all my emails over the years, without fail. Benchmade has also been great at sending replacement pocket clips & screws, body screws, pivots and even omega springs halfway around the world to me, gratis, though it takes some time (2-6 weeks). I have always contacted them via international@benchmade.com and i@benchmade.com addresses but recently they have been communicating with me via info@benchmade.com, which appears to be their general enquiry address. So, try emailing them at info@benchmade.com

They are trying to charge $15.00 to ship a clip?? What a freaking joke.

I ordered a deep carry clip from BM a few weeks ago via email. As I recall, the $10 charge included shipping. No problems whatsoever, though I do wish I had checked Amazin' first, as they showed an assortment of BM-specific clips that would fit my 940 from several makers.

I feel like they're understaffed.

I ordered custom knife Dec 6. Received email on Dec 21 stating order delayed.

The RMA they received late December might get here quicker. Email on Jan 3 stated "2-3 weeks".

I tried to get away from Benchmade... I love the assisted open and the AXIS lock and made in USA. Can't find that anywhere else.

I'll be shifting focus to fixed knives soon. Going with made to order knives from someone in Michigan (my state).

Just a little update. Emailed benchmark again last Monday - still no answer and they are still not answering phones. I'm very disappointed in them. I guess I'm getting used to the standard parkerized clip on my 940, so, it will have to do.

It’s certainly odd that they have not responded to your emails. I have been communicating with their customer service using their info@benchmade.com address recently and in fact received an email from them a couple of days ago informing me that my parts request has been shipped, and they provided me with a tracking number too. Try sending your request through at info@benchmade.com again.

i haven’t had to get ahold of the recently but whenever i have called i usually get right through. longest wait i’ve ever had was maybe 10 mins. with everything going on right now they could have a lot of people out sick though

Another update - Still no response to my calls or email so I used the chat feature. They told to me to order the clip through the online store and they will arrange to send screws later(???). When I ordered from the store there was free shipping this time instead of the $15.00 charge that I encountered last time but the clip costs $10.00. I guess the days of free pocket clips are over.

They should have charged for the clips since day one, I can't find a reason why not. If you bought a BM but never requested free clips, you were losing money since it was built in the price of the knife.
But don't overcharge for it, $5 shipped is reasonable. $10 each plus shipping is too much. Looks like BM made one bad business decision after another.
yeah you can thank all the a-holes that took advantage of the free clips then turned around & sold em for 25 bucks a pop over on the bay for that. another time where a few clowns went & ruined it for everyone else.
