Well, its obvious that Spyderco has great customer service and they stand behind their products 100%. On the 31st of last month, I had to send off my d4wave because the lock wasn't holding up to a spine test. I sent it in with a $5 check for return shipping. The package arrived monday the 4th and they sent me a replacement on the 8th. I just got home and there she was sitting at the front door.

The box came back with my check that I sent them stating that a defective knife is replaced at no charge. So, inside the box, there was a spyderco box that is sealed with tape with a brand new d4wave inside! Now this is what I call customer service! Spyderco, I love you guys!

Another story of great customer service from a great company. Thats what I like to hear.:D

Smack the spine of the knife blade on a hard surface preferably wood, and see if the lock disengages. And make sure you hold the knife so if it does fail you don't get cut. Some people debate the usefulness of this test.

While it might not be useful, it's nice to know that a locking knife would actually lock.
