Not to start this off negatively but I never liked the BK-2, I’ve moded and used several in the past and have never been satisfied with it in the end. Always found the original grind to be to uh…Chunky? To actually cut or do anything. Anyway, my addiction to buying Beckers is still stronger than my disdain towards the 2 so I eventually ended up with a 4th Campanion. Looking at it I figured I’d give it one last go to try and make a (IMO) mediocre blade into something pretty decent. I've never reground anything before so of my grinding looks crappy and rough it's either because the new grind genuinely sucks or because its fresh of the belt sander. I’ll let the pics explain…

Annddd...Since I've gone all this way to regrind it, I figured I'd take you guys along beacuse I've never done any work in progress threads. I'll start making some scales and a sheath for it soon so if whatever I'm doing is your kinda thing stay tuned.

Nice, though I would strip the coating from the rest of the knife with some paint stripper.

wow, you're ambitious!

Maybe so, not like I can blame this one on alcohol :D...

Might leave the handle coating on actually or atleast just under the scales. Depends how much of the coating I accidently strip off when making some new scales for it.

That looks awesome Cam.

Thanks Dubz.

That looks awesome dude! Now all it needs is a mirror polish

Probabaly gonna take the patina route although I will have to clean this up abit more.

They outta make 'em that way from the factory. If nothing else the FFG just looks better.

I did a FFG BK2 a while back. It was surprisingly easier than I thought. But then, I've got pretty decent belt grinders now... Are you planning on changing the profile any?

That is just good solid work man. What tools did you use?

Just my 2"x36" belt sander with 60 and 80 grit zirconia belts.

Yeah, I remember this from awhile back...Pretty much inspired me to take on this project.

Looks good.

Thanks mate!

You're right about it being easy, definetly much easier than I anticipated. As I said to bsmith just then I've got a 1HP 2"x36" belt sander, without that I'd have never taken this on. Also, no, I don't plan on making any changes to the shape, I've done that in the past and have never come up with anything better than the original shape and ergos.

That's a good start. Judging from your previous handle work, it should be a pretty good looking knife when you get it finished up.
