Greetings,
Thank you all very much for the compliments. This is the first time I have put my work on line to the public.
I have been interested in making knives for years. I took metal works in high school, my first knives were from old files
that were being discarded from the school shop. Since my retirement a few years back, I have tinkered with some different
ideas. I bought my first becker maybe 15 years ago, that's the 7. My first thoughts were, Becker used great steel, good design
but the handle is to small. I have some really big hands, (I laugh at XL gloves). And the balance was not right, so I took the handles
off and used the front 3/16" hole to pin the brass bolster to the handle. The epoxied one half the handle material on the blade and then drilled the holes.
Next epoxy the second side and drill the matching holes. The handle is pinned with brass pins also. Then it is grind, sand, and file the handle to shape.
I'm really new at the kydex thing... I've made a new press and use an old toaster oven to heat the material. So I'm getting better at it.
I'd use leather, but my hand aren't what they use to be....
I do have some of my work for sale at a local gun shop. So with out breaking to many rules... These are also for sale. PM for more details.
I will post some of my other work where it is appropriate.
Thanks again
