I have not posted anything in a while,so here is my first "take it down to the bone" customized Busse blade.
It started with a Ganzaa L.Meaner, drilled the rivets out,to remove the micarta scales, stripped the coating, made new scales out of Arizona desert
ironwood, couple of mosaic pins, epoxy, belt sander, elbow grease and sand paper,.
I like it a lot,let me know what you think.

I like it. Are you going to do any more polishing to the blade, or any more figuring to the scales?
You will have to post more pics of the finished product. I really like naked versions of most of the knifes better. I also like wooden scales. Although they are not as tough as Micarta, they are very good looking.

Good lookin' wood! Very nice. :D Thanxx for the pix!

I will keep the blade as is for now,i like the look of it,will see later on after some use
i may take it down to satin...

Terrific job Marc! That wood looks superb with the mosaic pins.

WOW!

Bro that turned out very knice!!! That wood looks freakingassawesome! Good job!

I really admire you guys with the guts and the skills to modify these blades. That one is nice, nice, nice.

VERY nice Marc, great work.

I think Ironwood is a great choice

Purrrdy. Very nice work, Marc.

I've got a hunk of micarta and a skeleton key waiting to be paired up for my first handling, but alas I don't have a scroll saw or anything to cut the micarta into handle-sized slabs just yet.

Thanks guys,it was a lot of fun to make.I do like ironwood, nice contrast and it finishes
like glass with 1200 grit paper.
I am tempted to rehandle one of my BM...
BTW,the new scales are Magnum!!
I was surprise to see that the original micarta scales were held by the rivets only,no
epoxy,it makes for easy removal!
