Customized Meaner

Very cool knife. Great job on this one.

I need to get back to Kauai and see this one in person. ;) :)

Nice job! How nice is the metal under the coating? Are they all like that? I am talking about the finish on the metal when bare. Needs more work? Thanks.

Very nice Mark, why two pins instead of three and what type of epoxy? Did you hand shape the slabs to match the micarta profile? I'd consider trying it to a user meaner I have coming.

WOW I wish i had the talent to do that .Great job , thanks for the pics .

The steel was actually very smooth on the primary bevel,i just put it on the buffer with green compound for a couple minutes.I do like the way it looks, didnt want to make it
shiny in anyway, except for the spine.
I decided to go with 2 pins only cause the wood is so pretty.I used 2 tons epoxy.
I did use the original micarta scales as a pattern, traced it,jig saw and belt sander, but i made them a bit thicker.
Thanks all and Jaxx for the compliment,i would encourage those who have the basic tools
to give it a shot,it is not that hard, just pick a nice piece of wood and take your time
One piece of advice, make sure you profile the scales the best you can before you glue
them on,its a lot harder afterwards, you have to be carefull not to scratch the blade
This my first with a Busse, definatly not my last:thumbup::thumbup:
