Customized Munk Chunk

Left the blade clamped in the vice. Got up to leave. Left part of a finger on the blade in passing. 3 weeks later, well, I am out of bandaids. :p

At least I got to try some of those new hydrocolloid bandages. It's always a plus when you can eliminate an option from your preparations. Vice grips should not be necessary to remove a bandage from around a tender wound.

Thanks, Sam. I think the handle proportions fooled Norm into thinking the chunk was a smaller size. (Great to see you, Norm!)

The Munk Chunk next to the Ka-Bar was very enlightening as far a size comparison goes.
As the quote goes " that's not a knife-- THIS is a knife".

Looks great Sam!

I know Sam does great work because his first project was finishing a Fighter that I made and had heat treated by Bos before I got hurt and quit knifemaking. Sam finished it beautifully! I was really suprised that someone with no experience with knifemaking could do such a great job but he did, for sure.

John and Sam, thanks for giving that Munk Chunk new life.

It does my heart good to see it resurrected like that.

I like the scabbard you made. I like the handle work you did. Really makes me want a Munk Chunk.
That's all I have. Nice work.

I'm particularly fond of Bocote. Nice work.

Thank you, Fiddleback, and thanks to all who've commented! It is good to feel so welcome.

I am most surprised by how much I felt I learned just through the couple or three knives I've worked on. I'm anxious to get into the next project to try to apply the little things I've picked up.

Thanks for all the good words and encouragement!
