Hey fellas,

Just got this one in from Marc at Gemini Customs. This is going to do double duty as a woods companion and some ccw (jack of all trades was the idea behind the set up on this one.)

Here's one with the obligatory Busse content:

I'm really, really pleased with the work Marc did on this one --- especially the trigger work, this thing is really smooth in double action, and nice and crisp in single action

Marc also chamferred and set it up for moon clips, added the red high-viz, polished the trigger and hammer, smoothed out the edges, and bead blasted the entire gun.

I love this little gun and would highly recommend Gemini customs --- if you want to make your Busse proud to serve longside your Ruger :D

Sweet Ruger! I have drooled over some of the Gemini pistols for some time. Matches your Busse perfectly. How's she shoot, what's the recoil like?

Awesome set-up!:thumbup: That thing must kick like a horse, nice nice nice!:D

It shoots really well. Recoil isn't bad at all (at least I don't think...not compared to my SW 360PD!)

38s are cake, hot 357s aren't really that bad at all. It weighs in at 26oz if I remember correctly, so it's not really a lightweight.

Marc does a pretty sweet porting system that is supposed to reduce the recoil even more, but I opted leave it unported. I was concerned about the noise level with porting, and also wanted to be able to shoot rat shot through it (I have a little problem with snakes and the like )

It's amazing what the trigger work and the new front sight did for my accuracy

I saw those ports, and I bet they do reduce recoil. . . but they probably reduce velocity and pressure even more, especially being so far back on the barrel. then there is the blinding flash in the face at night if used in a self defense situation.

Right, I'm not overly "recoil sensitive" so I just went without for all those reasons.

But he does have some serious fans of that type of porting -- for the recoil reduction. If you like porting, I think he's be a good one to do it...

On a barrel that short, with a cylinder gap you would likely not notice much difference in flash with regards to your night vision.

I love my small SP101. Even with heavy magnums, it still quite manageable.

I do need a sight job on mine. They are not quite on.

Does pretty well with point and click.

Seconded. Before Gemini Customs came into being, Jack Weigand used to do similar work, with something he called "Hybra-Porting". This picture shows a before and after perspective on my S&W Model 29 (.44 Magnum):

The fireball from the ports materializes about 6" above the sight-plane, so it isn't as much of a problem as the standard snubby muzzle flash. On the other hand, the concussion from the blast is almost as much of a weapon as the bullet itself.
