I was chatting with Muskrat Man a few weeks ago and mentioned that I had a 1 of 9 Candy Stripe harness jack that was a great knife but the celluloid had started gassing and had even pitted some of the blade.

I didn't want to have to change the candy stripe but I would have to do something..So MM and I bounced ideas about what might work and we came up with the idea of warthog ivory for the new handles with filework. So some Warthog Ivory was located on ebay and I mailed the knife and ivory to him with the Candy stripe. Please notice the customized matching warthog ivory knife pick. :)

A few days ago Muskrat Man sent me the customized knife. I do believe that Muskrat Man is pretty good at what he does..What ya''ll think??

Yup, this young man is quite the craftsman to be sure!. This knife is absolutely stunning now!.

Thanks for sharing it with us Cuz.

I'm glad you like it sunburst, it was a really fun project. The warthog ivory is great to work with. Come fall there is a guy at the semi local rendezvous who gets some really big tusks, I'm going to try to pick up a dozen or so for handles.

That is outstanding! And the ivory pick is a very sweet touch.

Absolutly stunning.

Honestly though I think I would have buffed the hell out of and polished the filework area to give it more of a round , flowing look.

Otherwise it is very nice. :)

VAST improvement!!

Don't care for that candy-stripe myself but that warthog tusk is a material to go overboard for! Is it rare and costly? Imagine THAT jigged or worm-groove!?? Ahhhh!:D

The filework is highly polished, sharp distinct lines while still having the flow is a sign of quality, all the edges are rounded off from over buffing isn't . This pattern has alot of flow, more then the pic shows, here is a pic I took of the filework before I sent it back to sunburst

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess....

really nice - I really like the material.

I'm thinking about going to find all my knives I don't like the handles on!

I'm not typically one for warthog, but MM may have just changed my mind. That's the nicest I've seen. Mike
