Not sure if this was the place to post, but since it kind of involves my small sebenza, here goes. I was wondering if any of you guys knew the answer....I have to go on a business trip to Japan and China, does anybody know the knife laws for these countries...are there such things as "international" knife laws? I would feel naked without it, but if it means that I won't have to see the inside of a dark cell then so be it.

Hi Moe,

Can't help you here, but you might want to post your question under the following:

General:
Blade Discussion Forum
Knife Laws

Community:
Asian and Australian Knife Community

Might get more exposure to those who could help answer your question. Just remember, unless a lawyer who is an expert in that sort of thing answers your post, what you'll most likely get is opinions and previous experiences. Won't help you a bit if you get nabbed for breaking some senseless law.

Good luck on your trip. Sounds fun! Hope you can take your Sebe!

If my memory serves me right,in Japan, there is a"8cm limit" for folders carry,and"6cm limit" for fixed-blades carry.

Hi, Moe,

Seriously, you should check with the U.S. State Department and the consulates of the 2 countries you are going to. Any other answers you would get would probably be rumor or opinion.

Japan is a pretty together country all around. I've been there a couple of times and really like it. The people are very polite and friendly.
