This is why I won't carry liner lock or frame lock knives.
I’m guessing the blade slipped off the lockbar and basically slingshot into your thumb?Yup!!! My work knife, Rat2, got me this morning. I was attempting to close it with one hand and it didn’t quite go as planned.

I disengaged the lock with my thumb while simultaneously closing the blade with my finger. My thumb remained in the path of the blade a tad too long.I’m guessing the blade slipped off the lockbar and basically slingshot into your thumb?
Happened to me on a Spyderco Resilience. Foolishly tried to close it one-handed with my left hand. Got my middle finger good.
I just take a regular Bandaid and cut each side up the middle to the edge of the pad. Works fine. This thread makes me ask why hasn't Johnson & Johnson (or somebody) developed a bandage that effectively covers a cut on a finger tip? It is 2025, right? I'm 71 years old and they haven't changed much in my lifetime. Neither has the stupid packaging.
