Cut free hanging 1" manila

You Obviously need a sharp knife, thats a given. BUT It's ALL technique. An even harder test like a poster said is cutting a single rolled up news print. The "Proof" Vids are interesting, but don't show me what a Cold steel knife can do, they show me what any decent knife can do, with the meat cutting ect.. Just interesting to see how powerful and how much damage a decent sharp knife can do. Like cutting a side of beef through ribs and all. It has nothing to do with CS it's just to me interesting to watch. Once atleast, LOL.
But you need a sharp knife and good cutting technique. and PRACTICE. You think the guys in those cutting contests and throwers don't practice all the time? it's Just like Martial Arts. Compare it to Brick Breaking. What purpose does it serve? well thats up to you, but to Me They are almost the same type of thing. I do both. I Break bricks and cut things and also throw in my backyard. I'm not exactly sure what purpose it serves, I do know that I can crush Bricks=maybe Skulls? And Cut News print/free hanging rope=maybe a BGs arm? All I DO know for fact is I get a Great work out. I feel Extremely comfortable using my knives. and it sure as hell beats sitting on my A$$ and watching TV.:D

I just cut Tops ciggerette paper with a unused new 110. It was difficult and I only got 1 out of 5 cleanly. My Strider SMF stonewashed spear did a way better job, but I took the edge back a bit maybe, 17. I think I could do it all day with the SMF. It's a Full flat grind, and I re-profiled it slightly. I compare My SMFs edge to a Manix, or maybe a Military. But thats a good test. Like one poster said, the 880 and FB could still shave but couldn't cut squat.

In case you wonder why I have Tops cigerette paper laying around? I have a few Big cans of Tops Tobacco in My emergency storage closet. With 4 cases of MREs and sleeping bags, tents, a few bottles of Wild Turkey, Medical supplies, water, and dedicated survival knives and a Shotgun. Just long lasting survival Gear, for a Katrina type situation.
