I have a fixed blade knife that I got from my dad years ago. I would have to estimate this knife is at least 30 years old, but could be older. Don't know much about this knife, but it is kind of unusual. Has a serrated blade and an interesting handle.

Anyone out there that knows a lot about Cutco knives?

Cutco is part of the same company that owns Kabar. The knives are U.S. made (in New York) and are made from 440A stainless currently. 30 years ago perhaps they made them from something else but I would guess 440A since I don't any better. The Cutco knives generally are of good quality but overpriced for what they are because of the expensive distribution system used to sell them. I suspect the knife will do a good job for you.

I would put them in the same category as any other "K-Mart" Blue Light Special."
