Cute little Varmint Gun

Those two clowns would have done about as well with a bb gun.

Not too many real men left in the world !! ....None of them seemed to lean into it properly.

that .577 T has about 10,000 lbs of muzzle energy

one sick piece. sure as hell make a .458 lott look like a pea shooter

No doubt Mike. I am a member of the forum where those guys in UAE make those guns. There is only one guy out of the 40 vids on teh site that can handle anything that big. It was a 700 Nitro Express bolt gun. Shot it like a champ. They laughed cause he actually shot it like a man (so to speak). If you were to go to Saeed's shop he would let practically anybody shoot that thing. Me? I would have to get paid to do that. Anyhow, those guys there were my motivation to get a 375 Ultra Mag and learn how to shoot it. Shooting big guns is an addiction like knifemaking. You always want more. I cant wait to get my .510 bolt gun done!! Those piggies do not have a chance.

And here I was thinking this was going to be about the 17 Remington Fireball...

and how much does the gun weigh. I noticed you could about guess the results of the recoil on the shooter by butt position and stance. I have been thinking about a 50 BMG. Anyone got plans and or low cost pieces

Funny thing is that is not even the biggest hunting round out there. There is a round out there called the 12ga From Hell. Think rimmed 50BMG brass shooting a .730(12ga) dia bullet, 1000gr. Guess I could mention the 600 Overkill also. I forget if that one is made from 460 Weatherby brass.

The 577 T Rex weighs almost 14lb. Let's calculate recoil shall we? We all know that most online recoil calculators are not quite accurate so do not take this as 100% factual information. but, it gives a good idea of what is really going on.

Okay. Shooting a Naval Ordnance 750gr round @ 2600fps over 198gr of powder, we get 184ft# of energy coming at you @ 29FPS!!! Otherwise known as detached retinas over time.

Comparably speaking, lets compare that to... 300 win mag specs. 7lb rifle, 180gr bullet over 79gr of powder @ 3000FPS. That's 41ft# at 19FPS.

That's great it reminds me of....well me :D I shot my first deer at age 14 I looked like that with a 30-06

you know, that kinda reminded me of that video of that young kid shooting a 12ga with duck loads. The kid has to be like 6 or 7, maybe younger and each time he pulls the trigger he gets thrown out of view from the camera! Darn kid gets up and does it again! Kid had balls for sure. Lemme see if I can find it.

That's hilarious!

The only time I saw someone put on their behind from shooting was a friend with a black powder musket (bigger than .50. Don't remember how much bigger).
We were shooting the thing all day, then the owner loaded it up extra heavy and handed it to a mutual friend. Put him right down, just like a cartoon!

This reminds me of time my wife decided to try a .44 magnum. As she retreated she said something about it spouting flmes when it went off.

This more hilarious though.

I don't know much about muskets but when I was at Central Texas Knife Show I saw an old .54cal muzzle loading rifle. Is that the same gun you are talking about? It was loaded by flipping up the chamber and loading it that way. I think it was back during the Civil War days or something.

My old man had a 76 caliber Zuwavie musket. We used the old formula of ball in hand and the poured enough black power on it to cover slightly. That takes a bit of powder on a 3/4" round ball. It would push you around a bit, but, black powder is so slow compared to smokeless it was not painful. I have shot a light 45-70 single shot with steel buttplate and stiff loads the really hurt. Light gun-heavy load- straight line of barrel to stock equals pain.

Did somebody say big muzzleloader?

Boy am I full of useless information this week!

so true about light guns. Try one of those Rossi 12ga break open single shots! That thing might weigh 5lb. I added weight to my 375 to bring it up to 10# and it doesnt hurt. I am now a firm believer in heavy rifles. I would rather carry a heavy gun than get punched in the shoulder by Mike Tyson.

Here is another one for kicks. I found the 700ne accuratereloading vid on youtube. That gun weighs 18lb.
