8 3/4", 9oz, 3/16th" thick, 4 1/4" cutting edge, 1" sharp swedge, 1 1/4" belly.
Just lettin y'all take a look at this little boy. He's very nice and extremely motivated. The blade is just like a mini BDC. He's got a squared off spine, and really smooth fullers too. First, I scrubbed him with some soap and water. Then smoothed out the ring with some emery cloth. After a few minutes with some ceramic and a strop, the blade was ready. It came sharp, but ya know you hafta take that buffed burr edge away to give it the best chance of being tuff. Last I put on a nice hard layer of Ren Wax. Today I chopped up some small stuff just like I do with all of em to start. No hard swinging tho. It's got some real potential. It cuts real deep, had no problem takin 1" bites outa some seasoned cedar and oak. It did really good for being so light. Can only baton about 3" stuff because that's all the room there is for the blade or baton. The edge is very sharp, strong and the retention is great. Lachu did a great job on this one, messed up one line on the right side Sword of Shiva and the choil is not perfectly rounded, but from the tip of the knife to around the ring, it makes a perfect half circle, like the top of a ball. I hope it's the only one like it on the planet. The sheath is very well made, heavy duty. The blade fits very tight. I will either mod this one for carry or make another. The belt loop would only work for cross draw because of the shape of the knife. It's an excellent knife, you can tell when you hold it that it wants to be just like its big brothers. Look at the size of the match beside the blade, you can tell he's only a baby.

Very nice. This must be the one from the 3/21 deal.

I took a long hard look at it and finally passed because of the minor blems that you mention. Now I'm having regrets. I could have fixed those.

Hopefully there'll be more Kerambits.

can you hold it in your hand so I can see a size comparison please? Images can be misleading without background size references. :p

So can in hand pics, as everyones hands are a different size. It is 8.5 inches OAL.

Nice job, Lee!

Great review and picture, thank you for sharing

So no hand on Kerambit visual reference? :(

OW:

The following URL shows a couple of in-hand photos and other pics of a similar Kerambit. It seems to be a slightly different model and the length might be a little different as well, but not by much. In-hand photos are nice, but unless you know how big the other person's hand is compared with yours, the best you can do is get a general idea about how the Kerambit looks in the two most common ways of holding it. These photos can give you that much, at least: http://www.novarata.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1989

Now that's better, thank you David. That's more than what Lee and Karda were willing to provide.

I don't really care about the size of the hand in the picture. I wanted to see the hand holding it regardless of size as that is a far better general visual reference than a mere comment on measurement. It helps me envision how my hand would be placed upon such knife. Can you imagine trying to visualize your hand holding a Kerambit with just a number measurement without any visual aid of how a placement of fingers and hand can generally be upon that knife? Yeah, it's not easy.

So, you think we have nothing else to do with our lives except take a picture for your disrespectful non-deserving attitude of a person. I posted a second picture for you the next day with the karambit on my gloves. You come to HI with disrespect since you first arrived. You disrespected the khukuris and disrespected the people. Everyone should read all your posts, so they can see your attitude. You deserve nothing. Be happy that anyone talks to you. You're not going to order a karambit anyway, if you do then you'll just return it, everyone knows. You are no one here. Karda is our 2nd in command to Yangdu and you disrespect him like a chump. Do yourself a favor and check others pedigrees before you talk to them. You may be used to getting talked disrespectful to, but I am not, I have not been spoken disrespectfully to in over 35 years. Most here are well accomplished in life. It would help if you learn some manners. Hopefully you'll read this and maybe you've been hearing it elsewhere and you can take that attitude out of your conversation. And be a part of this forum.

Guess it was a long time coming, Lee, as the least you could have done was communicate that you have posted another visual size reference but since I was unaware of your first post's modification I have already moved on from your original post. So you can't really accuse me of disrespect. Some people like me simply have very strong personality and high ability of expressive English, nothing wrong with that. Guess there's a first time for everything in your 35 years.

Speaking of manner on my part:

"Thank you for your great supports to HI and Kamis
Yangdu"

"Thank you for the kind words

Have a pleasant day!
Yangdu"

"Thank you for the suggestion
I learn more from my customer then myself
yangdu"

And more from her.

Speaking of contributions to this forum:

I spend time making this for the community and was praised on here and on email for my honesty and candid views.
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-Tiny-Bowie-A-Tirtha-Bowie-Review-image-heavy

I devoted my time to stand by this man during his time of need
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/929523-I-trust-you-folk

I went out of my way to contacting and keeping in touch with a Western friend in Nepal so the community is updated
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...rolling-blackouts-in-Nepal-a-potential-update

I'll let the quote speak for itself:
"I suppose the Old Wolf, RRR1977 and Eisman have answered this as satisfactorily as can be. As long as there is a human being fighting the battles and operating the weapons of war there will be knives in and for battle. And I guess the obsolescence of the traditional human GI is another discussion entirely and would need its own post.

Thanks one and all. I loo forward to progressively increasing the offensiveness of my posts and work on their inflammatory nature. I may even swear at people..........
Cheerz"

So color me a little confused on why you were disrespecting me by assuming I don't contribute to this community. I'm used to standing up strong, colorfully, and saying it for what it is with frank honesty so yes, I am used to others disrespecting me since they've often never meet a person like me as you have proven in your reaction. What comes around, goes around, Lee so don't be surprised at what you have received based on your choices. I'm always ready for mine. Such is the nature of things.

And lastly, you have no idea what I have done for other communities outside this forum, the respects I have bestowed upon all knives including khukuris, devotions I have given to my family, and many more. So do yourself a favor and check with yourself before you open up your keyboards mouth on here and end up disrespecting others.

Wolf

P.s. Thanks for the added picture regardless, another size reference is still appreciated and used. Be well. :)

Please, both of you stand down. I will not tolerate bickering on this forum.
I have no problem handing out infractions to elaborate my point.

OldeWolf, I'm going to be brutally honest with you here. Not only have you been on my radar for awhile, you have also been painted on the SuperMods radar for some of your terse and argumentative postings in other forums. Auntie and i are also growing frustrated with your ordering items, reviewing them and then returning the item for refund. One of which was not returned in the same condition as sent. If you wish to continue to participate in this forum, i highly suggest you choose your words and purchases wisely in the future, before someone decides that you need to be shown the door.

Forum Rules and Philosophy Revisited

*Sigh* Karda, you want to speak of honesty? Then so be it.
The Tirtha Bowie knife had blems/flaws that Auntie and the community freely recognized. And I had the right to return it.
I intentionally did not post a review of the Shuga knife and the quality of it and decided to let it slide quietly and I also had the same right to return it. But apparently you rather slander my credibility and accuse me of baseless things. So you forced my hand and now I posted the Shuga review in my defense.

I do owe you an apology OldeWolf. You are correct. It is your right to return a product you are not happy with.
The condition of the return could have been shipping damage or sold as blem, it is hard to tell.
For my accusation i am sorry and publically apologise. My misunderstanding.

Now that we have all had a lesson on manners and civility....

Perhaps it is my fault for not directly speaking to you sooner about the demanding and condescending nature of some of your postings here. Or helping you to understand that the majority of items sold here at steel cost ($95) are blem items that may need a little work to be nice, but are always useable pieces that most would be pleased to have gotten a bargain on. We aim to please, so if a customer is not happy with the sale returns are accepted.
Perhaps it is my fault for not helping you to understand that in this forum we try to treat each other with respect and avoid commentary that that disrupts the forum We don't make demands of each other and post snide remarks when our demands are not met. We try to be friendly and understanding. Perhaps it is also my fault for not being able to produce on demand pictures of every make model and style of product available.

I apologise to the entire membership for not addressing some of these issues beforehand.
