That's too bad Todd/Tanya........I'm sure that the knife they are selling is but a shadow of your superb work........I know, I've had one of your beauties just like the ones pictured. :cool:
 
Are they the same company that was making cheapo imitation emerson/benchmade knives? Like the CQC7?
 
Two questions
1. Did you patent or otherwise register your designs?
2. Where are these chumps based?
I had a similar situtation when I was a shyster except that it involved a gentleman who designed a knife specifically for a movie and had a well known maker make the knife. Said maker thought that gave him unfettered license to make more and put them in ads in knife mags. WRONG:D
You should check into suing them or at least threatening them and making them cry;)
 
Todd, Call Gil Hibben, they are ripping him off also,and me ,and everyone else.... Sorry for ya bro! It comes with the territory. I've been ripped off so many times I lost count. BTW Be careful what you say on a public forum, The thieving bastards are more than likely reading every post and may try to twist it and use it against you if you sue them.
 
I would understand this possible in 1908, but in 2008, this is totally
inconceivable! Can't anything be done about this?

Do you think their lawyers would actually look at post to twist and manipulate the words to their advantage and come back at Todd with a counter suite. ;)

Thanks Ken. I'm pissed but dealing with it. My Korean minx on theother hand is LOSING IT. she gave up cussing a few years ago. but I'd say she hasn't lost any of the flavor, came up with some new ones i never heard before.she is on lock down till she gets calmer.;)
 
I think Bruce Bump got it right. At least you can rest easy that your markets probably overlap by about 0%. They won't take any sales from you.

On the other hand, this kind of nonsense bugs me enough for a note to self:
Don't buy anything from dealers that carry Mtech.

I see an opportunity for an lawyer who is a knife enthusiast. In Brazil people can gather into a single law suite it the mater is the same to both complainers. If this lawyer can gather more than one (Todd, Gill and others) into one bit suite you guys might have a good case. I wish you can do something about it! I feel very angry about that.

That really sucks. They sell these POS's by the pound, its just stupid people actually buy them.:grumpy:
 
Todd and Tanya, I definitely feel for you both, and I'm sure this "rip off" must be cutting into your business. Ethically, you are in the right! However, unless you had a “design patent“, legally there is nothing you can do.

Design patents are usually a waste of time anyway, because all they have to do is change it a "little" and it's fair by law... just the way it is. :(
