cutlery shoppe ?

hi all, from a search seems that c. shoppe is/was a good place to buy from.. so i'm askin' if somebody bought from this shop recently:

i tried to buy, but when i try to finish the procedure ,the system hangs (the cart ask for a shipping method, but doesnt allow to choose any, so it stops there..)
i wrote two emails to them in 3 days, but got no answer and the cart still doesnt work.
before continuing to try i would like to know if anybody has a clue of the situation , maybe is only a temporary problem..

p.s. this is not a negative post, but an interrogative one..
 
I used to live near them when they had both a brick and mortar store and internet sales. They had the best prices and great selection. Since they gave up the b&m store, their selection is limited, prices are only average, and service has declined. If they have what you need, it is probably still a good place to buy.

thanks bruce.. the problem is that is impossible to buy from them..the cart doesnt work, and they dont answer to emails..
think i'm getting bored.

I always wondered what happened to them. I wasn't aware they no longer have their B&M store. They used to be the best by far before the internet took over. Spent much cash with them over the years. Jeff was a great guy and talked with him on the phone several times. Awhile back, I tried e-mailing them but like disorder's experience, after three e-mails went unanswered, I moved on.
 
I e-mailed Jeff to point out this link to him. Jeff replied pronto that his web sight is operating fine with no known problems. He provides two phone numbers on his web sight. I always call him and have never used the "cart". Great guy to deal with, and trust me I've had plenty of practice buying from Jeff.

sorry, but the cart DOESNT work for international shipping, for usa shipping yes.

i've wrote 3 email to orders@cutleryshoppe.com , i can't call due to time shifting (i'm in italy).and i see no need since we have emails..
i got no answer. this is a simple fact.
robert, when i ordered the dragonfly sheath to your shop, we communicate normally via email.. this isnt happening here. maybe he doesnt check that address, dont know.
the fact remain the same: the intl. shipping form doesnt work , and nobody answers at orders@cutleryshoppe.com ,as gene said, there's must be a communication problem.
anyway, no problem. regards to everybody
 
Since I'm not in a foreign country, can't talk to the 'cart' issue.
However, I do want to say what an excellent company the Cutlery Shoppe is and my esteem for Jeff Loffer.
I've been a customer of the Cutlery Shoppe since the mid-1980's and have always been impressed with their operations and customer service.
I do think the internet boom did kind of 'side swipe' Jeff's operation for a while, but it's great to see their new website, great product offerings and excellent prices.
Give the Cutlery Shoppe a try - you won't be disappointed! :)

ok people, i got an email from jeff,-indeed a good guy- and we are working on problem with cart that i had.
about the answering of emails ,jeff apologies 'cause was someone else that sould take care of this,and seems a little slow.
anyway a good exchange, and i'm happy to get in touch with him. as stated in my first post, i didnt nor will jump on someone for such a thing, and definately will buy from jeff.

news: it worked. and was my fault.. the new LAN firewall on studio has a neat feature that stops (or should ) the nocive scripts and others.. the problem is that with CS cart it did a mess, and with others i tried (i design web ecommerce site..) no problem.

so IT WAS MY FAULT ! ..only that this ,summed with the delay in answering ,made me post here asking if somebody know CS.

hope that i made it good this time. :)
anyway , buy from Jeff.

jeff wrote me that infact there was a problem where i stopped.

at this point i dont know if i jumped on my tech people here for a real reason or not, but no problem, if this wasnt their fault, i have a long list of tech problems that they messed up in past. :)

so ,everybody is happy.
