Cutlery With Holes In The Blade?

To who, you? Not only that but it makes the blade look moth-eaten....

Opinions and anecdotal statements are fine in my view. When those theories are confused with fact is what causes problems and misleads the newer members that don't know better. Unless you can provide some specific instances of realistic scenarios that prove that your claims are fact, they will remain unqualified opinion. Sorry.

Spyderco's got all sorts of neat looking blades. Mostly decorative, some functional piercings.

Most are for decoration some are to cut down weight, and some are for deployment. If they are drilled wrong they will weaken the blade, but if they are drill correct they can strengthen the blade. The holes can actually redirect and dissipate energy and harmonic resonance. Most folders aren't long enough for it to make a difference.
