cutoffs

So isn't your favorite small fixed blade an, as you put it, "abominated" hobby file that you made?

How are these any different?

S skarrd , I like 'em! Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!
these are different only in the idea that they are *scrap* pieces that got a new lease on life,my personal carry knife is one I made with a little more *point* to it. these are mostly just for fun on a rainy day.

Any reason to do these tiny cutoff knives, rather than save up the scraps and make a Damascus from them (obviously using only the ones that would actually go well together)?
I would think that making an expensive and "premium" product like a Damascus would be a great way to take scrap metal and turn it into something very valuable.

I ask as someone who has never forged a damned thing in his life.
it probably would make good Damascus, but I don't forge,60 year old carpals just cant take the pounding[and I have no power hammers]

Exactly. That is why I was wondering why that other member said what he said about your work, when he carries a similar piece of his work.

Really cool pieces there!!!

I like that you made such useful and good looking knives out of odds and ends.

They are small one or two-finger knives made from scrap pieces.

There are a ton on the market, check out the Boker Vox Gnome, for example.

Hope that helps!
I thought someone took a cutoff wheel to perfectly good blades. Thanks for the explanation
