Cutter's d/a Brend

Guy's I just need to vent.

I sent my D/A Brend back to Cutter's Knife and Tool to have a new blade put on it. Paid $56.00. After about 3 weeks of waiting, I got it back tonight. I was excited. Opened up the box and my allen wrench that it comes with was not there. Okay nothing big. Checked the edge on the new blade and it was non-existant. I'm talking like a butter knife. In other words there is no edge. I am just in awe that I paid $400 plus for this knife and they didn't even put an edge on the blade. Needless to say I'm a little hot!!!!!

No one blames you for being upset, but IMO you should have tried to contact Tom or Mike before coming here.

Cutter's is highly thought of and everybody makes a mistake.

Sorry to hear it came back to you with a dull edge. Tell ya what, I will take it off your hands, at a discount of course, due to its flaws:D thebadguy@cox.net I can do paypal:p

I'm not trying to get people to ban CK&T, or say their product are junk. I still like the D/A Brend, but I'm not good at sharpening knives. I came here and made this post because I was under the impression this forum was to discuss things like this.

People post hey I'm upset with Mircotech, Benchmade, or whoever else. Why is this any different?
 
Vinny, I don't think RGray was really getting on your case. It's just common courtesy to let the maker, dealer or member knows the problem and to see what they offer to do about it prior to posting negative comments about your experience.

If your really bad at sharpening, I will sharpen it for you and send it back to you priority mail.:)
 
Let's move this to GB&U. I have a feeling the folks at CK&T will take care of the situation.
 
Vinny I understand your frustration completely and you have every right to be upset. The two things I can say for sure are 1)Every company has its quality control problems and CK&T is no different. 2) I consider Mike Kyle a friend and I can assure you he will be glad to take care of you and would very much appriciate you letting him know about this problem so he can make changes from inside the company!! I plan on giving CK&T a call. I'm sure they will take care of things. I still think it's a hell of a knife an everything, but I was just disappionted and a little fired up.

I accually mananged to get an edge started. So maybe on the positive side this will enhance my sharpening skills. :)
 
Vinny,FYI you have every right to be mad,disapointed,& frustrated. It's your money and you expected a perfect knife. I have found that most all the makers and dealers on these forums are first rate,the Kyles are right up there with the best!! I love my Cutter/ Brend and will never be without it!!!Let us know how things go!!!

No they did not say who did it. I don't believe W.B. did it though. I say that because when I talked with CK&T I got the impression someone there did it. Later.
 
Vinny by all means call me if you havent had this fixed. We are very sorry that this has happen to you. I'm not going to make any excuse for what we sent back to you. It shouldn't have been sent out like that. Im sorry that I didnt see this post earlier to help you out faster. I dont frequent the forums as much as I should. I also want to thank you guys for the kind words. Masterchef dont be a stranger bro!
