Cutting cardboard,Plain or serrated blade?

I have a Klein Tools boxcutter with Klein replacement blades that does a great job of slicing through cardboard.

But using a knife, I'd go with a plain edge flat grind.

I cut up dozens of cardboard boxes at work most days. Enderwiggen got it right: a very sharp thin plain edge is the way to go.

Blade shape is personal preference. What works the best for me is something with a bit of belly. Straight blades with a fairly round cutting-based tip (such as a sak) also work great.
