cutting edge of dozer blade

Hi guys long time lurker first poster What kind of steel is the cutting edge of a dozer blade made from? ould it make a good hawk?

Hi Forest Walker -

I work for a company that makes big yellow dozers.

The ground engaging teeth on our buckets (at least some of them) are made from DH-2 steel.

I have the hardened edge of a Municipal snow plow blade, no idea what the steel is but it sparks on dry pavement. ;-))

I know of one company that sells dozer teeth that are 1060 steel..Would make a fine axe..DH-2 used by cat is very similar to 1060 but the specs vary a lot. According to them at least .60% carbon but up to 1.0 carbon%..heres the specs..
