Cutting mammoth tooth piece into scales.

How do you cut a moammoth tooth piece into scales ? I'll be gone for a few days but will appreciate seeing any information when I get back. A friend is desparate for the meathod that should be used. Thanks Frank

Needs to be stabilized first or all voids filled with glue, otherwise it will fall apart when cut. Use a bimetal blade and it will be tough to cut.

When using a band saw I found out that having the Mammoth tooth glued to spacer stock helps it from chipping (spacer stock side down). Also having a piece of sheet metal with a saw cut in it that covers up the gap between the blade and the table works also. Lastly If you have a new blade I would use it to.
