Cutting off serrations

Any rough file to remove the serration quickly, then finer to put on an edge.

I also don't think Dremel is a good idea. It does still heat up the metal, and you still need to file the thing down, creating a very high angle edge portion, not ideal for cutting, compare to filing down.

I've done this before, diamond files will do just fine and not overheat the edge. Do it tracker style and it will look and work great.

Agree with the guys saying file instead of dremel. Just go to the hardware store and look for a Nicholson mill file aka bastard file. I’ve had a lot of files and I prefer the US or German made ones. I do have a couple made in Portugal and they really surprised me at the quality. Anyways. If it was me and my knife, I would file the teeth even with the edge and then file the side of them. I don’t think I’d do a COMPLETE removal but just cut them down real good almost flush with the blade and then stop. Then use your stones and finish the job to your liking. But remember, it’s much easier to remove metal than add it back. Take your time and you’ll probably be happy with the results
