Cutting

I sharpened it freehand with diamond plates, then waterstones (1000 up to 8000), then stropped. Maybe 15 degrees per side. Edge has help up well with woodwork and brush cutting.

In my experience, Infi will get razor sharp with a lot of stropping on a loaded strop. I use wood backed leather with a diamond paste & handamerican gel CrO2 mixture.

I have benefitted from the very good sharpening advice to be had here on BF from many very knowledgable folks. I have found freehand sharpening to be relaxing and enjoyable.

The comment I've heard from some is that this last bit of sharpness required for scary sharp is not worth the effort. I agree with this pretty much for frequent use, but still enjoy getting them really sharp and cutting something.
