That's cool, i was always hesitant to clean stuff with pocket knives for fear getting stuff in the joints and having it smell for a long time.

Yeah, I didn't even like spear point blades on anything, it soured me so badly.

Kind of like'em now, though. Got myself a Queen Teardrop with one last summer. It is just too pretty!

How do you find that for sharpening up:D

I have 2 of em,nice knives yes but all kinds of nicks in the blade when new and a devil to sharpen up:eek:

Well, it was a serious pain in the tush. And there is still a small flat spot on the edge, that wasn't properly ground in the first place. The devil to sharpen? yeah, pretty much. I love it, and carry it sometimes, but ... that D2 is tough to get an edge on.

The Queen teardrop has a reputation for rolling the edge due to the blade contacting the backspring. I'm careful in not allowing mine to snap shut and it doesn't seem to exhibit that trait but I've had a couple of other Queen's over the years that exhibit that trait.

So it may be a flat spot not from improper grinding but the kick not keeping the blade off the spring.

That's quite possible. The kick does seem rather short -- the design seems to call for making the blade almost disappear into the handle. The flat spot was there when I got it, and I didn't worry about it because I know I could get rid of it (at least temporarily!) and I had to sharpen it anyway.
