cwf ht gaw - winners

In.

I will keep MilVet & Leo open until cutoff date. Or I decide to draw early.

I'm a vet and I'm LEO, if there's still room.

Thanks.
Good of you, Russ! However all entered are in - the list above (50 entries) includes ~5 MilVet/LEO.

Luong, give my spot to someone who missed out. I have benefitted from your generosity before, pass my spot to another member.
Regards, Russ
Those are great looking knives luong! Very kind of you...

Ha! It's funny you say that (and a nice sentiment at that). I guess I didn't make the cut off even though I'm a vet and current LEO. I was planning, if I won, to test it out (because I'm curious) and then do an open ended passaround and by the end whoever gave it the best workout and review would keep the knife in my place. Three birds with one stone: get some good reviews, keep the passaround monkey off of Luong's back, and let the guy who wanted it the most keep it.

Congrats to whoever wins!

Oh no, sorry officer! You didn't looked at the list careful enough ;) (hopefully my hand is faster than your eyes)

I would be very pleased to be allowed to take spot 32 (mycough).
I have been following your HT process and would really like a first hand experience :-)

Spey, if I win consider yourself on the list!!!

Haha! No worries Luong, you've been very generous getting your heat treatment out there for testing. I hope whoever wins puts it to use and shares their impressions...

So, gaw 10V will duke out with your 15V, then gaw2PA2keep? Wow, it sounds great.

Spey - since bodog announced (I knew but until stated) he is a VET+LEO. naturally, a spot open up - you are in.

As much as I like the 15V, your knives are thinner and harder (and likely tougher matrix). I'd have to put money on yours being a longer lasting cutter.

I sure would like to have a bar of 15V (0.07-0.1" thick) to make a few test knives. No guessing on my part but fun to learn. However you've played with 10V & vanadis10 (2x Cr%) so you have a better projection.

OMG,

bondog,
Thanks for coming out ... ;-)

Luong,
thank you for the news, on the list :cheerful:

When I read this thread earlier I was like WOW CWF HT being made available to the public :-)
Then the depression as I counted through the posts already in front to see I was first man out :crushed:

Then I check in to see the roller coaster waiting ... COOLIO and many thanks.

I never enter GAW's but ...,
I haven't been this excited about new technology in a while now. The implications, way beyond the cutlery industry, are vast and far reaching. To imagine getting on board and experiencing something like this being manufactured in an tool with which I have a passion is very cool. Up there with zero point energy ... ;-)

Thanks for putting a smile on my face :)

Spey,

That's what I'm thinking too that the implication is beyond knives. Thanks to Luong that generously share his HT recipe.

Would .130/.144 be too thick? They don't roll it any thinner.

Thanks, bodog!

Yeah that is a little thick however easy surface grind them thinner (sad to waste pricy good stuff). I will shut down for a few months but will keep in mind of 15V avail/existence.

I wrote a short sql script - test ran a few times. My kid drew winners & standbies (run script one time).
