Does anybody have any tips for removing loctite superglue from faux ivory. I got some extra glue on my fiancees dagger handle, and do not want to have to sand it out if possible as it is wrapped with colored wire (inlayed into the handle) and I don't want to sand out the color. I will if I have to but I hope that you have some tips for removing it without abrasives.

Thanks in advance.

acetone will cut it but it will remove paint and such too. test the colored wire to make sure its coloring wont be removed. i would also try some 0000 steel wool along with the acetone.

Depending what the color is on the wire, you could try acetone- you may have to buff lightly to get the gloss back on the Ivory.

I would try nail polish remover first as i don't think that is full strength acetone! will definitely remove super glue.

You know, most good stores sell super glue remover in the same area as the super glue. It's a gel and works pretty good. Don't know what it might do to the ivory, but it seems pretty safe on everything I've put it on so far.
