What about renting a suitable RV? Gas isn't great, but it may end up being cheaper than 5 tickets and a hotel. Could be several days of Hell too though, unless you have Nintendo and Laudinum (JK :) ). Just an idea...

You need to wash that disgusting cyber off of you. Cyber Hogs are Hogs in the same way that scrapple is pork. Yuk!

I hope I can make it next year.

My advice for you is to make sure you get a room at the Waverly, it's more expensive but so much better.

Last year I was staying about 10 miles away so after every night of boozing and cigars at the fountain I had to get on the freeway and drive.

This year I could just stagger over to the elevator bank and press a button*.

If your wife and kids want to do anything beside go to a knife show, make sure you plan to do it before Thursday night or after Sunday (there is a lot to do in Atlanta).

Speaking of Sunday, there were some deals to be had on customs (and other vendors trying to move their stock), but with your taste for CG's you could probably skip it. For me it made a nice time to say good bye and I wasn't scrambling for the airport at 5:00 am like last year.

*I didn't sleep in the elevator, I had to walk down a hall and open a door but that doesn't sound as easy.
 
If I grow 4 more inches and break 4' 8" I'll be there because then I can get on a plane by myself...I'll bring my freind Chuck Ette'

Don't confuse gratitude for being considered a part of the family by the Boss Man with satisfaction at getting away with something sneaky.

I broached the subject with the Missus this afternoon. I went for the extended vacation angle: Atlanta to Charleston to Jacksonville and back to Atlanta. She was intrigued. We'll see what happens.
 
i'll try to make it next year. with the way the economy and fuel prices, i'll have to save and hope the airlines don't try to rape me!

That is actually something my wife has mentioned on several occasions. She loves road trips. The kids do too. I'll have to take a serious look at this angle.
 
I'm planning on going next year if I can sort out the time off uni and work. Will depend on how the prices go for flights, with half the airlines putting their prices up due to oil prices it might stop me cold in my tracks.

I was hoping to make it to the Knob in October but will have to keep searching for cheap flights.

Don't want to get all the way there and have no infi money to spend.
 
I surely didn't mean to start anything by saying "cyber hogs no more," guys! I do think that if you loves the infi (and who among us does not?) you cannot beat the total immersion that happens at Blade. There are not words to describe how good it is to meet all your friends from the boards face-to-face, and to truly feel part of this extended family of infi-lovin' hogs! (Not to mention the Rats and Dogs!) :) After handling and seeing knives I never hoped to see in person, and meeting people I've chatted with, I will never be the same! And I hope all of you who are inclined to and able to be there with us will feel as I do! :thumbup:

No worries sister. It was not taken that way at all. Seriously. :) Cyber HOGS, iTHOGS, "I shook the man's hand HOGS"... It's all the same to me. IMHO making it to Blade, in and of itself, does not make one any more a HOG than anyone else. I was just fishing to see who might be making the trek to blade next year. Especially for the first time. And to start planning. For me it'd just be nice to see the many characters we have here in person and to score some sweet users. :thumbup: :D
 
I'm curious Tyrkon, why did you label this thing off-topic?

While it isn't a direct Busse Knife post, it's certainly Busse related. If you were worried you could always post gratuitous Busse pics.
 
And here I thought that Blade West was best, and that the Show in the Southeast was a Beast.

Blade West, the Gentler easier to get Busse knives at Show.

Besides, I hear that it is easier to keep up drinking with Skunk than it is drinking with Jerry.

Just a screw up playing with the new choices. You are right that the label is not needed. :o

Blade West would be a lot easier to get to for me but do they have the knife selections that we see at Blade East?
Is their an induction ceremony at Blade West?
 
From what I have heard and the pictures I have seen, it isn't even close.

I managed to get everything I wanted at Blade and I didn't have to jump or dive or kidney punch the guy next to me. Luckily I couldn't afford the Silent Night or I might have done all three of those things.

Since Jerry doesn't go to Blade West, there is no induction inner.

Also, Blade pulls in people from all over the U.S., Canada and Europe, you will see a lot more Hogs there.
