Hi,
What do you people think about using Cydonia oblonga Mill as a handle material? Does anyone have any experience with this wood?

Raf

Quince. A small fruit tree.
I've seen some knives out of China using it.
I'm not too keen on using fruit-woods for knives, as most of it is plain-grained wood.
If you've got some with some figure, I see no reason not to use it.

Quince can be a real nice wood.

Dry it slowly so it doesn't crack and check.

Some nice examples of knives with quince burl handles:

accidently I have one, but it is a very short "limited" supply source. Many people in Europe grow the cydonia tree in their gardens, but I have also never seen it sold for any purpose.
Looks quite nice doesn't it?
