CZ-52 Range Report & Surprises

George, I take it that you're a snake breeder. If so, what snakes do you usually raise? I wouldn't mind getting me a pet snake someday.

Bob

not to hijack the thread..

BUT

Nah not a snake breeder...Just a fun hobby for me and honeybear...I have several right now (take'em in and heal them up and send them on there way!)

I have 2 corns of my own...Err well one of them is mine...Becca's is a Ghost Corn (George)..Mine is a standard Corn named "Syn"

Snakes are a great hobby and if you would like to know more about it, then please shoot me a pm about it...I can offer some advice on which way to go and which way NOT to go..

Dave,
hmm.. Well I would certainly have to look at that...I was going by what I have heard for awhile now...Learn something new everyday and thanks for that...I just wouldnt have thought about the chamber wall thickness vs the action...Good post bro!!

Gotta get me a CZ52!! and a CZ75!!!:D

There are two particularly common reasons for misfires. The first is dirt around the firing pin. With a military surplus gun this is often old hardened oil or grease. A really good solvent cleaning of the hammer/striker and firing pin areas can work wonders. The second is just old/bad ammo. Try cleaning and fresh ammo.

This is a common problem with that ammo and the CZ52. I don't know cause I haven't tried it, but I have heard other folks report that the ammo that misfires in the 52(ie Yugo/Romanian) shoots fine in the Tokarev.

I will remove the firing pin and detail the firing pin area for crud. I tried to order some of the polish ammo from Classic, but they are out. They are sending me some other ammo to try out. If it works wekk I'll lay in a supply.

On the K-31 front. I spoke with the owner of Classic and sent my K-31 back. When he gets his next shipment in he will send me a replacement. I want to say I have never spoken to a nicer guy or one that stands behind his product more. I have been very impressed by Classic. I look forward to my K-31 in a few weeks.

The people at Classic are super nice- great products & packaging. Hm, wondering what was wrong with your K31. Many have dinged or beaver-chewed stocks, some faded bluing. It's great to be able to hand pick milsurps youself when possible.

You're in Gainesville; see if business or vacation takes you to Delray Beach (Century International Arms) or Samco in Miami. Samco has a showroom in their warehouse... need to make an appointment. :D Worth the trip.

At a recent gunshow, they had two K31s, both beech, ugly, faded blue, chewed on by wolverines. Price tag of $175 each... I thought about my walnut $69 one and was glad to have the C&R.

Hi AA:

The rifle was OK. Just not excellent. Classic is taking care of it very nicely. No problem on either end.

Del Ray is about a 6 hour drive. Miami a bit more. I didn't know about the showroom. I might have to take a trip.

UPS refused to ship my rifle today. What a fiasco.
