This is another creation from Petr Dohnal. Not all of his khukuris are damascus ones :D

Petr Dohnal

This one is going to Balkan with one of Czech soldiers.

Steel 14260 (carbon spring steel), hardware is stainless, handle made from pertinax rings (sort of micarta like material), OAL 52 cm, spine 11 mm thick. Undestructable working tool.

Enjoy!

Beautiful. That's the first custom made, non-Nepali khukuri that I've ever really liked. :)

Steve

I agree with Steve! I really like the pommel and the offset grip, have you handled it? Looks like it would feel great chopping/swinging hard.

Dick

That IS very nice. I'd consider getting one of those. I second the request for the price, please.

Thank you guys. I agree with Steve too. I like damascus but not on khukuri. I prefere users.
This is just a pic. I am not in touch with Petr except via email. So I have not handled the knife so far.
I just sent him a note asking him for the price.

Stay tuned.

If not too expen$ive I might be interested in getting one.

Love the look of Handle. I would be very interested in finding out what he charges.

i like that handle!!!..wonder if the kami's could buile me a pen with a handle like that?

I just got the reply from Petr.

It was custom order from one soldier in Czech contingent in Balkan.

Petr sold this one for 9000 Czech Crowns which is approx. USD 360. One dollar is about 25 crowns, more or less.

He sells his damascus regular size knives for this price. I would say it is a nice deal, but it realy depends on your oppinion, guys.

That isnt a bad price for a custom blade...21" OAL Length??sweet!

Can ya post a pic of the sheath??

Looks nice...how about asking him to produce a sample for one of the tester's to get ahold of and ring out...ya know, see what it can do???

If it works as good as it looks, could be a great sellar here on the forums

I am thinking of the one guy that could do it...Of course then he would write about it, in a manner that I dont really understand, and I would have to get Steve or Munk to translate it for me, but it would be intertaining..:D

But his name cannot be spoken by me...<~~not worthy!!:p

Hate me today

:D

Nice idea about testing. How about someone sacrificing himself and buying one? :D :D :D
I am tempted to make a trip to Petr tomorrow to handle this chopper. It is only 100 miles distance between us. :)

The scabbard is being made just now. I will post some pics when it is done.

Cosco, if I completely lose my mind and decide to order one of these, how would I do it? My Czech is horrible (though my German isn't bad).

Thanks.

Just send your Czech in the mail! LOL Sorry I couldn't resist. I crack myself up sometimes....

Really beautiful! Your friend is very gifted. Cosco, like Aardvark I am also somewhat interested in this. The price is high, but very fair for this work I think. I look forward to seeing the sheath, and maybe we can work something out. I would much prefer this over a shorter damascus blade.

Looking forward to your report.

Best regards,

Norm

That's a pretty nice one. If I didn't have so many HIs in the 20-22" range already...

Bob

That price would put in in the realm of "too expensive to use as a tool" for me and my budget. It is beautiful and looks like it would be a good solid tool though:thumbup:
