Czech made khukuri :-)

Welcome Petr. Your work is outstanding. I too am interested in one of the karda's out of spring steel.

His replica of the Sutton Hoo sword is to die for. If ever a sword was worth 3200 Euros, that is the one. The pommel at the bottom of his goldsmith and jeweller" section is for the Sutton Hoo sword.

How much for a Karda in spring steel??

Dave, I checked it out. In spring steel it would be about USD 200. Depends on wood used for handle as well.

I don,t know if someone asked . What are the spacersbetween the andle rings made from ? Looks like nice work .

Kevin, Cosco called them "pertinax" rings, similar to Micarta. Looks nice and strong whatever it is.

There are 1 cm thick rings of pertinax, angled as you can see on pics. Then there are grooves made with needle round file where the rings meet. The grooves are polished with fine sandpaper. No other spacers are used. It looks like there is some metal between rings, but actually there is none.

Pertinax is an industrial isolant. It is made like micarta - phenolic glue and fine fiber textile. It is only in brown collor AFAIK.
