D-2 Question

What's is the general opinion of D-2 as far as performance, maintenance, taking a mirror finish, etc.?? Thanks.

It is a very tough steel, holds an edge well, it has 11-12%chromium, just shy of being rated a stainless steel, it is tough to get a mirror polish on, I wouldn't even try, just go with a nice satin finish. Knifemaker Bob Dozier uses D2 almost exclusively, with great success. Hope this helps.
