D-2 Utility in Jarrah wood/mosaics

This is a slightly longer bladed version of this model that some people said they'd prefer. Specs:
Blade: 3 7/8 inch(tip to plunge) blade of 1/8 inch D-2. Flatground/distal taper/satin finish/convex edge. Cryo by D' Holder.
Handle: Stabilized Australian Jarrah wood with copper/nickel silver mosaics and a copper lanyard tube liner. Brick red liners. OAL is 8 1/4 inches and weight is 5.6 oz.
Sheath: 8/10 oz veggie tanned bridle leather. Dyed and stamped with a celtic boarder. Saddle stitched with welt and waterproofed with Sno-seal.

Very nice and clean design,looks like a good allaround knife,i never heard of "jarrah"wood
what are the caracteristics of it?thanks

Very hard, weather proof, Rot and termite resistant. Very difficult to work, not only because it's so hard, but the burls, such as this one, tend to have a lot of occlusions. The good thing about using it in it's stabilized form is that when you have to fill the gaps/cracks with Super Glue, it doesn't cotrast from the rest of the stabilized resin. Hmm. I han't noticed. Actually it's a mixture of dark brown,black and some reddish brown. It sort of has an overall Mahogany kind of color. Maybe I should try a lighter exposure in the morning.

P.S. This one shows the color a bit better.
