Recommendation? D/E OR S/E

I personally prefer single edges, they are much more practical (other than stabbing, what does a DE accomplish?) And also the "scary factor" is far less. Maybe I say that because I live in land of retarded knife laws (Ohio) where the scarier the knife, the riskier it is to carry legally. Also just keep in mind that almost all OTFs have blade play, so if you can't stand that then steer clear.
ZERO blade play in Microtech knives. I own many...

Or maybe ?

OTF knives, short of something like the Deadlock, almost always have blade play. That's just part of it. I don't have many, but I do have 2 Ultratechs and a Combat Troodon. They wiggle.

It's not enough to bother me or affect their use by any means, but there is noticeable blade play. I often carry something like a CRK, so it very well could be my bladeplay tolerance is just really low :)

Still, I EDC an OTF. Love the utility of how fast I can get it in and out out of action. In terms of the CT, mine is a DE PE. I figure a big ol' honking knife deserves a badass blade. Fun to play with and really useful if you don't find yourself needing to choke up.

My current edc is an Ultratech with a bayonet blade. I specifically chose this one because it was slightly smaller than the CT and the bayonet profile gave me the utility of a DE but allowed me to choke up with my thumb.

Pretty rad and under appreciated profile, IMHO.

I prefer SE..I have a turquoise Microtech Ultratech w/black hardware and black 204P drop point blade and a black Hogue Exploit w/stonewashed S30V clip point blade...both are amazing OTFs..I also have a couple cheap OTFs.my first OTF was a $30 Lighting w/a double edge blade..then I bought a RavenCrest Tactical knife as an upgrade.while it was definitely an upgrade from the Lightning,I was still new to knives when I bought it and didn’t know it was a rebranded Chinese DH Gate OTF..luckily I bought it on sale and only spent $70 on it instead of the $120 original price..I don’t regret buying either the Lightning or the Ravencrest Tactical .I bought the Lightning for the fidget factor but it was surprisingly much more durable than I ever expected it would be and the RavenCrest Tactical even moreso..they gave me enough confidence in OTFs to talk myself into buying a Microtech and a Hogue
