SINGLE EDGED

It's 21. 7/8" overall and weighs 39.5 oz.
The blade is 1095 spring steel 15. 7/8" X 1. 3/4" X 1/4" thick.
The guard, bolster, and pommel sides are 1018 steel WELDED
to the full tang.

The handle is 5. 1/2" long with scales of Curly Maple.
The sheath is 10 oz. leather with black steel rivets and a
black steel snap. There is an attachment point on the back
for adding a leg tie (not incl.) etc.
It's cemented at the spacer and hand stitched
using doubled waxed nylon saddle stitching thread making for an
extremely rugged, rough use sheath.

The rough beveled blade is reheated in the forge to glowing red
and quenched in strained used motor oil. After it's cleaned of slag
it's brought back up in temp. until it can be struck with a file.
I leave the file marks showing. I like a handmade knife to look
handmade.
This is how I harden / tempor my blades. They hold an edge
extremely well.

SOLD incl. S/H in the U.S. PAYPAL ONLY PLEASE
1st. "I'LL TAKE IT" to my email address mcswood@msn. takes it

Thanks for looking,
Mike

I don't plan to make another "LOAP".
This is the last of 10 blanks I made a while back.
I'll be making an assortment of Bowies and fighters
staying away from short swords (for a while).
Sorry,
Mike

wow, ditto what the others said... always enjoyed looking at your work but am out of budget at the moment. As a sword collector your saber is definitely on my "to acquire" list

Wow...I love that. If it had a straight blade I would buy it in a second...bills be damned! Of course if you took that primitive D guard Bowie you did a while back and made it 3-4 inches longer I would be all over that even faster!

Love your work and hope to get something sometime soon!
