Cedar Mountain D-Guard Maple Bowie and Hunter Set, by Tom Ferry, MS
I commissioned this set from Tom directly, and the mission was to create a pair of knives that would have been carried by a Civil War soldier. Cedar Mountain Virginia was the site of a Civil War battle. The blade on the D guard Bowie is 12.5" and it is 17.75" overall. The Hunter has a 4.25" blade and is 9.5" overall. The fittings on both are Damascus with copper spacers. The handles are from the same piece of superb tiger stripped maple. Both knives come with matching Mr. Bill's cases. A super set at a very sharp price.
I would also note that this pair is very unusual because Tom makes very few carbon knives.
