Those who've read past posts on Grohmann/DH Russell know my love affair with these knives. It started the first time I saw a #1 Original, then I picked up a #3 Boat Design, and I just bought a #2 Bird & Trout for my son's 9th birthday. Great ergonomics, unique style and decent steel -- all for around $50? How can you go wrong?

Marshman's a good source.

Kirch, you hit the nail on the head, and I feel the same way about Grohmanns for all the reasons you stated. Not to mention that the folks at their factory are super to deal with.

And the price mentioned above for the Armed Forces model is dang good...

Well, no questions I love a good Grohmann, but, their design is not unique. There was a big kafuffle a few years ago about their "unique, award-winning" design.

Whatever has happened over the years, Grohmann produces a great knife at a great price.

When I finally buy my Grohmann, am going to buy it from Tom Marshman.

But, FWIW -- I don't know if you'd have to pay customs duty or whatever from a US online dealer. I was up in Vancouver a couple weekends ago. Found a little knife shop. The only knife in the whole place that would have been cheaper for me to buy there, vs the I-net -- at 1.54 exchange -- was the Grohmann Survival -- #4 pattern, I think. The only Grohmann they had out. It was a great knife!
