Questions?? I got some belts with no arrow on them, does it matter which way they go on?
This probably sounds dumb--I got my knife caught between belt and tool rest,,Twice?
The first day I was ready to put it on Craigs List, But I knew my wife would NOT BE HAPPY!
Thanks For any help...D Lee

Typically, a mens belt will have the buckle on the left side. Women do the opposite. It's much like women's shirts and jackets - the buttons or zipper may likely be on the opposite side you're used to. :)

What kind of belts do you mean, for a grinder? That question belongs in Shop Talk.

Let me know, brother, and I'll move this there.

If it doesn't have an arrow then its not directional. To be honest, I don't pay the arrows any attention anyway. This may be dangerous and I'm sure its not recommended but hey, so far so good.:D

Like Matt, I don't pay attention to the arrows. maybe it's recommended for the way the splice is taped/glued, but I haven't noticed a difference.

IMO , if you are using a tool rest it should be close enough to the belt so that the blade cant fit between the rest and the belt. Try moving your tool rest closer.
