D2 for a camp knife?

I have plans to make a camp knife out of D2 and wanted to know if D2 can stand up to chopping with a thin edge (.015 ish) or is it a good idea to use something else.

You're going to want something with good edge stability and that doesn't play well to D2's strengths. 3V has similar stain resistance and abrasion resistance and is tougher. It would work better as a camp knife.

I agree with Nathan, CPM-3V is a much better choice.

Maybe look at A2. Not stainless but pretty tough.
