D2 Griptilian WoW!!

... Now I managed to bump the large knuckle of my left index finger into the blade during all this and yep, I was bleeding all over the place.
:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:For D2 Griptilians. They are very fine cutting tools.

Ouch!
I's good to know that I'm not the only one who bleeds with practically every new knife...usually within 24 hr. Seems like I nick or cut or slice my fingers every time, trying to get acquainted with the new blade.
"Let's see if it'll open like this ...Yeowww ! !!"

Remember in the Movie "Jaws" they got drunk and started comparing each other scars? I could show off a few good ones from numberous knife mishaps but they (bad ones) mostly happened when I was a kid. Daddy gave me a Boy Scout pocket knife (with poptop opener, the works) when I was around 7. The rest is history and I've been packin pretty much every since. The nicks are just a part of it. If I nailed myself as hard now as I did a few time as kid with the cutting machines I carry now, I'd lose a finger or worse. I probably survived with all my digits because the old man wouldn't show me how to put on a really good edge until much later...teens really.

I guess now, all my routine nicks and cuts might mean I'm clumbsy but hey all good knifes need a little blood on them. The Knife Gods get pissy if all you cut is paper and string.

My Ritter Mini arrived 2 weeks ago - I now have 3 healing cuts on the fingers, and they did gush. I really understand the term scary sharp now. Superb Ordered the full size ritter last week - arrived yesterday.

Love the blade I like the subdued stonewash and lack of false edge- big enough for good work. The handle not so much, feels light and part of the ridges on the back of the spine dig in to the hand - going to have to trim it down. Serious knife for bush work. Does not quite do it for me as the mini as the handle seems very big for a casual jeans carry even in the country. But an excellent survival knife. Glad to have it but can't wee using it much. Still it and the mine grip are now my go to knives

Would love to combine the ritter full size blade and an axis lock system with the flat scales of the old Gerber bolt I have. Make it a bit flatter to take up less space in pack (or pocket for you US guys)

The syderco delica arrived a week ago - a nice knife but does not compare for me. Maybe my brain has a mistake I just can't warm to Spydie's. The finish and opening is not up to minigrip standard. Have an Endura coming but nwo expect it will not change my view

To me the mini grip ritter is the choice.

Gagin Oz - if you come around Southbank Melbourne and want to have a look let me know

Benchmade's D2 is good stuff. I don't own a Cabela's Grip, (yet...) but the D2 blade on my beloved 710 is awesome. My friends say the extra $$ for the D2 Grip is worth spending.
