D2 Ka-Bars, does anyone have them?

Saw them. It had black blade, gray parts on it, looked kinda odd, so I took a pass on it.
They made it grey or all one color, made it look normal, I'd get one

Sounds like an improvement to me, are they going for around the same price?

Hmm , not sure, so far I've seen them only on Ka-Bar's website, for 157$ & 179$ if I am not mistaken, the difference was only the sheath between those 2. model numbers are 1281, 1283. steel is D2 at RC 59-61, not that I am an expert but kindda large blades for D2?

Hey Gator, if you're talking about the Ka-Bar D2 Extreme folder, I've got one. I am changing the grind on the blade when my Edge Pro arrives. An interesting knife, but I'm going to put mine up for sale or trade. (Just had it too long). I didn't find any problems with it.

Ka-Bar came out with the new one, basically it's like their earlier fighting fixed blades ... check this out D2 Extreme / Fighting Utility Knife

Gator,

I have seen this knife a couple of times at trade shows. It had the feel of the standard Ka-Bar's with all the plus's and minus's normally associated with Ka-Bar's.

Speaking of the plusses and minusses normally associated with kabars ... there's beena discussion recently about a kabar bending at the tang, which is a fairly well-known problem with the 1095 models since the tang juncture is soft. I assume this is *not* the case with the stainless and D-2 versions, but does anyone know for sure?

as soon sa I recover from all the spending on the opposite gender I do....
