D2 Para millie is here!!!***pics****

I really wish I could like this one enough to actually buy it. Just can't get past that clip and the compression lock.

Congrats on the new Spyder though! CPM D2 and the folaige green G-10 make for a nice pairing.

mine came recently as well. im very impressed.

notice the serrations on the choil and the difference in spine serrations compared with an older model.

My guess is that these serrations aren't exclusive of the D2 version, because I have seen them on a black-bladed S30V version. Perhaps it's a design upgrade extending through all current production versions?

As for getting hooked thanks to this forum... plus one over here!

Dog pile on Lycosa!!! Morimotom---How's your sister? Oh, glad you like them-there Spydercos!! You'll thank me later!

I've seen the following comment on knife sites about the Para Military. Is this some sort of special lock or is it just like the Military's line lock? Thanks

"The package is topped off with a nested Compression Lock making the ultimate mid-size survival knife."

Oh dear, it looks like il be needing a D2 P.milli

The s30v is a great knife but the green G-10 and D2 combo is hard to get past

The Military's liner lock works by impinging on the bottom of the blade tang to prevent it from closing. The Paramilitary's compression lock works instead by wedging a small tab between the blade tang and the stop pin.

It's kind of hard to explain, but the compression lock is a lot stronger than the liner lock because the direction of the forces acting on it is different. In order for a compression lock to fail, the lock tab has to be crushed between the blade tang ramp and stop pin.

This is correct. I have a satin pe S30V version and it has the same jimping as what's shown on Morimotom's pictures.

there was a length thread a couple months ago where i asked the same question. it took someone's pics of a disassembled para for me to understand, then buying one for me to appreciate.

It can't be as bad as being hooked on Busse's.

Price of 2 Busses = Entire Spyderco collections:D

not as bad. but it is just more stuff i HAVE to buy!
