D2 Steel Patina?

Got bored this morning and forced a patina on my D2 Petrified Fish 818. I think it came out awesome, I used granulated citric acid and Modena Balsamic Vinegar in a hot water bath. It really shows the grain on the grind well.

I got a bag of citric acid from a place that rhymes with hamazon , Millard food grade .... I grabbed about 1/2 cup or so and put in a wide mouth standard mason jar filled most the way up with purified water, I microwaved the water till it was too hot to touch but not boiling. I soaked the blade(removed from the knife)for about an hour after cleaning with 91% IPA , checking regularly and reheating water as needed. Then added balsamic vinegar at ~30 minutes or so. Wiped it clean and polished with a paper towel.

The key is little bubbles forming on the blade... If no bubbles, it's either not hot enough, or you need a higher acid concentration

Slice bananas and berries. Lemons and limes.
Cut hot sausage.
Cut uncooked beef.
