D3 chopper

I would say an ice cold beer would be more deserved. Man that thing is a beast. So is this for chopping steel I-beams or? Or did you lose a bet and have to compete in BladeSoprts with it?

With a little luck I will have this ready to use in Atlanta.

Hi Farid,

Got your email! Will respond later today. Thank you very much!

The new pictures look sick too. That had to be a bear to grind, but it looks really neat.

Hi Collin, emailed you today buddy,
I will grind the final cutting edge On a slack belt.
take care

Some custom makers just love making their knives thicker than everyone else don't they? :D Thickness is cool tough. I bet it makes them darn expensive though.

Farid,
We are looking forward to meeting you and seeing your work in person this week.

Haha, Farid you may have just started a war with Busse. I can those guys over there, "no one makes a thicker knife than we do, get 'em!".

You may just be the coolest knife maker out there. And I mean out there. Haha. How thick/thin is it behind the edge bevel?

Someone was asking about D3, well here it is...stats look good to me, Carbon anybody?

C. 2.20%
V. 1.00%
Cr. 12.00%

I also found an alternate comp. that I did not list, but this is AISI spec D3.

I appreciate everyone’s support in my special projects.
D3 is a good tool steel, performance comes from a good heat-treating. Anyway, ground to finished size and took the edge to 0.35 before sharpening, here is the finished knife all sharp with a mirror polished edge.
This reminded me of when I made the CPM REX 121 choppers, a few more grey hairs.
Thank you all.
Time for another cup of tea,
