DABA for Daddy!

Sorry for another new guy question. What makes it anorexic? I'm assuming it is thinner than the standard 3/16's. Is that it? Nice blade by the way. I like all the BAIII sized blades. I just picked up a desert Buffalo Soldier and I think it will be a great carry piece. I'd sure like to pick up one of those however.

Yes, thinner... not sure on the thickness, but I'll try to measure it later this afternoon.

I can tell you that it is thinner than the BAIII I had - but not by a huge amount.

My BA-E is .260 , if I remember the BA3 was .25, my DABA measures .158 and the ABA measures right at .150

differance in the ABA - DABA is the coating thickness.

They are pretty smooth under the coating as well, if you strip it.

So if this is a DABA....what's the YABA....as in Fred's "YABA DABA DOO!!!" Sorry, I know it's lame but I got what I wanted today and I am on an Infi high right now!

Thanks Jimmy. Thats what I was thinking, hard to believe they're related. The BA-E feels so substantial in hand but the DABA seems to be so delicate in comparison, if you can call INFI delicate :o You know what I mean...LOL Thanks for the comparison photo

I like the BAIII over the Ergo any day.....I like the ergo on large knives.....but man, I really need one of those. Lets see how long it takes! Mission starting now!

Owned a ABA & BA III at the same time once and being the chopaholic that I am, I preferred the heavier, thicker BA III. Sadly, I chewed up the edge on the III by when I hit the chain on my saw when "freeing" it from a log. It did the job , but the edge was wavy after that. I really thought that it wouldn't hurt it. Lesson learned. Chain saw chain, will damage your edge:)

Now after the GW, I'm thinking that I need to give the ABA another look see.
