Hi. My dad passed away about 4 years ago. A few weeks ago I found a rusted Case Barlow 9 dot mixed in with his tools. Condition of this knife is terrible; broken blade, broken scales, rust, broken liner, you name it, it’s got it all.

Knowing my dad, he probably saved this to “fix” when he had time and never got around to it. So I got it in my head to save this knife but I don’t know where to start and how far to go.

Any suggestions where I should start?

If I can figure out how to upload pictures I will.

Use a photo hosting site like Imgur. Upload your pics there, then link to them here.

I suggest you go to Ebay and find a donor knife, unless you think you can make backsprings.

Thanks for the tip Bill. I may do that after break open the Barlow to see how bad things are.

I’m thinking micarta for the new scales. The only thing that has me nervous is replacing the pins. I’ve seen it done on YouTube video.
