...I never said I wore em to bed. But last time I woke up, and went outside WITHOUT the shorts to have my morning smoke....the neighbors and passersby were NOT amused! ')

I'm not a fan of smoking either, but if it's on your property then your neighbors can go stub themselves out. ;-)

Okay, I just bought a scope for a gun I don't own. Who among you has done that one?

When Ruger went to the Hogue grips from the factory for the GP100, I bought one of the old santoprene grips from Midway.
Still don't have a GP100...

It's for a .22 build I'm planning. Nikon Prostaff Target EFR 3-9x40.

Can't go wrong having a spare .22 scope, nor with a Nikon.
I put a prostaff on a heavy 10/22 build for my buddy and it was sweet. Wish I'd had more time with it. :-(

I was joking about them being flashed if I was naked outside. As for smoking...if they dont like it, I dont think they want to come on my property and tell me so. ;) I live in the backwoods.... and I love it. 13 months in San Diego made me appreciate the real Freedoms I can enjoy in the country/small town.

*lol*

try 10 years in New York City!
yes, it still hurts.

well, 'scopes are rather interchangeable (usually)...but I have bought ammo for guns I don't own (yet). And holsters for guns I dont own. And magazines. I figure if I find a great deal, I will either eventually own the gun or I will find someone who does and needs it.

buying ammo for a gun you don't own (have registered) is illegal some places. like DC. go figure :)

yeah, i've bought scope, and stuff for something i didn't own, but do now.

If you think about it, it's no different than a single guy buying condoms....

you own registered guns? lol

All my guns were lost in a boating accident...or was it a fire? Either way, it was a tragic tragic loss. ;)

* ''Irish Girl'' got her BK11 today, and she likes it...so that's a load off my mind! It's now currently splashed all over her FB page so I guess she really does like it LOL

Did you get a free AR mount with it, too? I think this one qualifies for that right now. ;)

No, that's just the P-22 Rimfire. This Prostaff EFR qualifies for a $50 factory rebate as long as you buy through a participating dealer: http://www.nikonpromo.com/rimfire.php

Anybody want to recommend good base and rings? They'll be going on a 10/22 Green Mountain bull barrel.

Midwest Industries base and Leupold 1" detachable rings. The rings really won't have to be too strong, since you have a heavy barrel and recoil is next to nothing on those. I mostly recommend MI bases, because it's in my back yard (kind of) and they owner and employees are some of the best I've ever dealt with. Service is top notch and their products hold up to my abuse of my AR15.

looks great Clich! If I hadn't seen it b4 i wld think it was factory!

I can see it now, next week on the ZT forums...
''Hey guys, I just cliched my ZT!''

LMFAO

Moose has ZT fever.

Thanks mrn8, for the recommendation.
And thanks to tradewater for the shock cord.
And thanks to thrillbilly for the turkey call.

Damn good group, the lot of you. Looking forward to the Gathering this year.

Burris Signature Zee rings would be my recommendation. They have the inserts so you don't have to lap them. You can get offset inserts too, so if you run out of adjustment you can change the insert to get some of it back. 10/22's can have some barrel "sag". Basically heavy barrels kinda tend to sag a bit so you can have troubles with your scope running out of adjustment. Lots of people on rimfirecentral use them for that and just for ease of installation. I have a set on my 30-06 and they have been great. Also, if you do get barrel sag there are a few places that make adjustable v-blocks that can help fix the problem. Basically they are a regular v-block that is drilled and tapped from the bottom side towards the barrel. They put an allen head set screw in there and as you screw it in, it pushes up on the barrel.

I like the Leupold PRW rings too. They are nice and solid. I don't really have any suggestions on a base. There are tons of good ones out there, but I always used the factory one.

Never heard of such, but of course, I had to Google it.
I found this gizmo, which is supposed to help offset barrel sag.
Opinion? http://www.eabco.com/store/products...ecures_Barrel_With_No_Barrel_Sag-1944-54.html

Checked the mail just now and damn if I didn't get a turkey call too. Thanks Thrill, and for nice note as well. Been practicing on it already.

I spose that one might work Guyon, but there would be no adjustment with it. The one I'm thinking of is actually adjustable, so you can set it the same everytime you take the barrel off. I'll PM you a link to what I'm thinking of.
