Dad's in the hospital

Prayers sent.

When you get good at ignoring discomfort from pleuresy, ignoring other symptoms is, unfortunately, even easier.

Prayers sent. Hope things sort themselves out with a minimum of discomfort and disrupting of lives for all involved.

Dad got home this afternoon, feeling pretty tired but with somewhat abated symptoms. All the tests showed nothing, so he'll be seeing his own cardiologist on Monday. It sucks not knowing what might be causing all this.

Brother-in-law Dave has a cardiac cath scheduled for April 7th. He's a little discouraged now, too. We were all amazed and inspired by his great attitude while he was going through his ordeal. I guess he really believed he was "out of the woods" and just needed to take care of himself and be careful. Now he finds out there is a whole new problem.

Thank you all very much for your continued support of some kindred spirits. (They are great guys, too.) ;)

Well Hell!!! I don't know how I missed this but will make up for lost time!!!

So sorry to hear that Dave has found added problems and hopefully your dad's condition won't be anything at all serious!!!
~~Smoke~~ and ~~Song~~ going up from Ind.Terr. for as long as needed!

The Docs couldn't find anything new wrong with Dad, so they dismissed his symptoms as just "more of the same but all at the same time." I am not satisfied with their diagnoses, even though I hope they are correct. I guess there's really nothing more to do about it but wait and watch, though.

Dave's Heart Cath to (maybe) patch his hole is tomorrow. His outlook has improved somewhat, but he is still feeling a little beaten down by his seemingly unending issues.

As always, your thoughts and prayers mean a lot to us and our loved ones. Thank you very much for them. :)

I'm glad your Dad is still hanging in there. Maybe this is just a good scare to make him as careful as he can be of serious symptoms.

It's hard to tell Dave that unending issues are better than the alternative, but sometimes it just takes that one more surgery to fix the problem that was screwing everything else up. My ex went back to being a dynamo after a bypass operation that her doctors didn't even think was very successful.

Prayers that all went well.

I have felt beaten down at times...

There is something about a bruised reed and a smoking flax, in Matthew 12 I believe.

All the best!

Hey Guys,

Mac is at work, so I'll do the update on Dave...

Something I didn't know till yesterday - the patch that was used to seal the hole in his heart was not FDA approved. Apparently, there are two major types of holes in the heart - those with a flap and those without. Dave's patch was FDA approved for holes without a flap, but there have not been enough studies yet to approve the patch for holes with a flap. So he's part of a study. In fact, I think the inventor of the patch was supposed to be there for the procedure.

Anyway, Dave stayed overnight at the hospital and was home this afternoon. He's feeling fine and is eager to get back to swimming without, hopefully, getting out of breath. I believe he is feeling overwhelmed with all he has gone through lately, but he is a man of faith. His attitude is quite good, considering. :)

Thank you all for the prayers, smoke, song, and positive thoughts and energy.

I can see why Bryan likes to hang out with you guys so much. ;)
